About Technological Exchange Office

The mission of the International Technological Exchange Office was launched when the Center for International Scientific and Technological Interaction was established and this was aimed at paving the way for constructive cooperation in the fields of science, technology and knowledge-based economy in the international arena. By boosting the international relations of Iran’s technology and innovation ecosystem, this office aims to interact with foreign peers and international organizations active in the field of science and technology.

 

Objectives

  • Boosting bilateral and multilateral cooperation with nations pioneering in the field of advanced technologies
  • Expanding global interactions with the aim of using the possibilities of international organizations and institutions in the field of science and technology
  • Facilitating the transfer of technology by Iranian knowledge-based companies
  • Expanding and facilitating technological cooperation between Iranian knowledge-based companies and their foreign counterparts
  • Using the capacity of joint economic commissions of nations for the purpose of expanding technological cooperation and developing the country’s knowledge-based economy
  • Creating and expanding joint scientific and technological centers with countries that have been prioritized in advanced technologies

Missions

  • Facilitating access to the designing know-how and developing much-needed strategic technologies
  • Identifying scientific and technological opportunities in the international arena and preparing the ground for using them
  • Using the know-how and expertise of prominent foreign experts and Iranian ones living abroad with the aim of developing much-needed technologies in the country
  • Participating in the protection of the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran in international and regional treaties, unions and organizations in the fields of science, technology and knowledge-based economy

  1. Bilateral scientific and technological cooperation in the form of joint research funds with the countries like China and Russia
  2. Cooperation with international organizations such as UNICEF, ESCAP, UNCTAD, etc.
  3. Supporting the dispatch of Iranian experts to reputable international training-specialized courses
  4. Supporting the acquisition of technologies: Granting loans for the transfer of technologies to knowledge-based and technological companies
  5. Facilitating the transfer of advanced technologies to Iran in consideration of the needs of the country’s technological and innovative parks

Achievements of the office for attraction of international investment and technology

  1. Engaging in scientific and technological communication and cooperation with more than 30 counterparts from foreign countries
  2. Sending more than 140 Iranian advanced technology researchers to foreign countries for completing joint training-technological courses
  3. Supporting the implementation of upwards of 90 joint development-research projects by Iranian researchers and knowledge-based companies in collaboration with foreign researchers
  4. Creating joint funds with different countries for supporting the development of technologies and innovation
  5. Active participation in international scientific and technological organizations (such as ESCAP, The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific) and participating in international projects of UN bodies
  6. Entering into more than 16 scientific and technological cooperation agreements with prioritized countries
