International Business Development Office

Introducing the International Business Development Office

One of the goals of the International Business Development Office is to expand the export of knowledge-based goods and services, which requires identifying the capacity of domestic technological companies and international markets.

Fundamental Values, Prospects, Missions

A suitable platform needs to be put in place to achieve these goals and that platform requires macro-planning and executive policy making if it is supposed to lead to commercialization, growth, increased activity by knowledge-based companies, entry into international markets and ultimately wealth generation.

A key indicator of the resistance economy is the active and widespread involvement of people and the private sector in economic activities. There is no way expanding non-oil exports, as the main driver and engine of economic growth and prosperity and the most important factor in achieving sustainable development, except through the involvement of the private sector and government support. Hence, the vitality of government support. A look into the achievements of the leading countries in export shows that for every dollar invested by the government for the development and promotion of exports, one can, under the right conditions, expect private companies enjoying such support to send goods worth 87 dollars abroad.

It was this necessity that promoted the Iranian vice president for science and technology to craft and implement various policies and programs for the purpose of organizing exports of knowledge-based goods and services in line with the national division of labor and the comprehensive scientific roadmap as well as the macroeconomic policies of the resistance economy, the fifth development plan and the Economic Council. The purpose of the move is to direct the possibilities of Iran’s scientific and technological community toward transforming ideas into knowledge-based goods and services that have the necessary quality to be sent to the domestic and international markets.

The International Business Development Office, which is one of the subsidiary of the Center for International Scientific and Technological Interactions, is trying to make a worthy contribution to the realization of the knowledge-based economy in light of the following goals and tasks that are based on the missions of the vice-president for science and technology and the upstream documents of Iran.
