Kirgizstan announces interest in expansion of technological ties with Iran

The Center for International Science and Technology Interaction hosted Kirgizstan’s ambassador and special adviser to the country’s prime minister

Heidar Aliev Asilbek Akmatbekovich and Dr. Bayhojov Moratbek, the deputy special envoy, traveled to Iran early last week to expand scientific and technological cooperation with the country.
They visited the Pardis Technology Park, Inotex 2022 Exhibition, Iran House of Innovation and Technology in Tehran and some hospitals.
Heidar Aliev Asilbek Akmatbekovich and Dr. Bayhojov Moratbek Held a number of meetings at Iran’s Ministries of Health and Higher Education, the Medical Equipment Fund, and some knowledge-based companies working in the field of health. These two officials then hailed Iran for its technological achievements and announced their interest in developing technological ties with the Islamic Republic.
During the meeting, the Kyrgyz envoy said his country’s researchers are interested in developing the production of new drugs using stem cell technology and voiced hope that with the help of the deputy minister of science and technology, they will be able to pave the way for the presence of researchers and companies in Kyrgyzstan.
The Kyrgyz prime minister’s special adviser then underlined at the meeting، that happened at the Department General of Technological Exchange of the Center for International Science and Technology Interaction، that the country is willing to produce and manufacture medicine in Kyrgyzstan.
He also announced implicit agreements with Semnan University of Medical Sciences for the purpose of launching a joint scientific and medical center. The Kyrgyz side also wants medical equipment to be provided by Iran and a site to be designated where healthcare services and Iranian medical products can be supplied. Head of the Department General of Technological Exchange Masoud Hafezi presented the structure of Iran’s science and technology and welcomed any technology interactions with Kyrgyzstan. He said Iranian knowledge-based companies have little information about Kyrgyzstan’s market and its working capacity.
Hafezi added that given the religious and cultural commonalities of the two countries, the two sides had better improve the level of their technology-oriented interactions to a more appropriate level.
Hafezi emphasized that Iran has precious experience in the field of medical education, provision of medical services and supply of medical equipment and medicine, provision of know-how about creating and developing technology parks, and the transfer of medicine and medical equipment production technology.
He added that Iran is fully ready to cooperate with Kyrgyzstan after hammering out appropriate cooperation frameworks.

The presence of Iran and Kyrgyzstan in the Eurasian Economic Union can further pave the ground for the expansion of technological trade interactions. Akmatbekovich thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran’s ambassador to Kyrgyzstan for his constructive cooperation. He then extended an official invitation to the Iranian delegation to visit Kyrgyzstan to examine the existing infrastructure there. Akmatbekovich also voiced pleasure with his visit to Iran.
