Acting VP’s programs for knowledge-based economic development in Iran

Iran’s Acting Vice President for Science and Technology has announced a plan that enables knowledge-based companies to join the stock exchange and helps develop support funds.
Rouhollah Dehghani Firzouabadi said Iran’s leader has named this year as the year of knowledge-based companies and this means that the market will be available to the youth. Firzouabadi was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the 13th Nanotechnology Exhibition in Tehran. “We have successful models in developing technology in our country, and the Nanotechnology Development Center is one of those successful technological complexes”, he said.
The vice president noted that what generates the primary value is technology, adding that trade alone is not very attractive by itself. Firzouabadi also said this year and in the coming years, Iran will seriously pursue plans to support and expand knowledge-based companies as well as industries that employ networks of knowledge-based companies.
He said the main step to this end is that government agencies are helping knowledge-based companies and when the agriculture ministry cares much about knowledge-based companies and the leader puts emphasis on the field, it means that Iran is ready to give the market to the youth.
