Iranian vice president for science and technology meets with members of nanotechnology development committee

Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy Ruhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi has met with members of the nanotechnology development committee.

Dehghani described the committee’s performance in scientific development as “good and acceptable,” and said, “My advice to the directors of the committee is to use the same model to develop technology as well and to define… all of [the necessary] legal and support mechanisms.”
He said the committee had to look out for “technological challenges” and help the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology solve issues using strategic technologies.
Dehghani stressed that a “command camp model” had to be used in which large bureaucratic apparatuses, offices, and facilities are replaced with passionate work by a group of “efficient and professional” individuals.
Saeed Sarkar, the secretary of the committee, for his part, said it had operated with an objective of “increasing the people’s welfare and creating wealth from science and technology” over the past years.
