Iran, Uzbekistan mull developing economic ties in creative industries

Iran and Uzbekistan are investigating the capacities and facilities to enhance their economic and trade relations in the field of creative industries, according to the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy.

The secretary of Iran’s Cultural and Soft Technologies Development, Masoud Hasanlou, who headed a delegation to the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, met with the Head of the Department of Investment Attraction and Project Development at Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, Aziz Khamidov, to discuss the issue.

Hasanlou thanked Uzbekistan for organizing and hosting the creative industries ecosystem and highlighted some points on Iran’s cultural and soft technologies and creative industries.

He noted Iran recently marked the Cultural Innovation Week and Creative Industries when activists and talented and great actors in the fields of toys, animation, education and empowerment, computer games, and stationery were invited for a trip to Tashkent to increase their economic and trade interaction.

Meanwhile, Khamidov expressed his country’s warm reception of the idea to step up cooperation with Iran, saying his country has set a target of $250bn trade exchange until 2030. He added the toys industry will have a share of between 100 to 300 million dollars.
