Iran’s advanced lab equipment exhibition achieves major sales milestone

The Iran-Made Lab Equipment Exhibition has achieved sales of 19 trillion rials over its 11 editions, the deputy head for Knowledge-Based Economy Development at the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science and Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy announced.

The 12th edition of the exhibition, focusing on export development and expanding industrial markets, will be held from December 13 to 16 this year.

Reza Bakhshi Ani, in an interview with the Communications and Information Center of the Vice Presidency, highlighted the extensive planning for the upcoming exhibition, saying the event will coincide with Research Week and the 24th National Research and Technology Achievements Exhibition.

Bakhshi Ani noted that the previous 11 editions of the Iran-Made Lab Equipment Exhibition facilitated the sale of approximately 19 trillion rials worth of lab equipment. Of this amount, around 35 percent (6.6 trillion rials) was subsidized by the Vice Presidency, benefiting over 900 universities and research centers.

The deputy head emphasized the exhibition’s success in implementing demand stimulation policies, which have not only promoted the purchase of high-tech domestically-made equipment in universities but also enhanced the country’s research infrastructure.

Key achievements include preventing currency outflow, fostering the growth of capable companies in this sector, and creating comprehensive databases for lab equipment and testing, he said.
