Iranian president reiterates AI’s role in health services

Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian has one again stressed the importance of leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) in various sectors, particularly in healthcare, to reduce costs and enhance service efficiency, the Information Center of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy reported.
During a Technology and Knowledge-Based Production Council meeting on Tuesday, President Pezeshkian stated that AI could significantly streamline patient care processes, reduce the need for specialist doctors in underserved regions, and ensure faster and more reliable medical services.
He emphasized that integrating AI in healthcare should be a priority for the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology.
President Pezeshkian also underscored the necessity of adopting a global perspective on new technologies, stating that achieving this would allow Iran not only to meet domestic needs but also to produce world-standard products that can be marketed internationally.
He further highlighted that utilizing modern technologies and prioritizing AI in healthcare are essential as they would lead to more efficient healthcare delivery and reduce the reliance on specialist doctors in remote areas.
President Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of prioritizing issues scientifically and practically, given the country’s limited resources and unlimited demands.
