Isfahan, Khuzestan provinces lead Iran’s nano exports

Isfahan and Khuzestan provinces ranked first and second in Iran’s nano product exports at the beginning of the last Persian year, according to figures released by the Nano and Micro Technology Development Headquarters.
The Communications and Information Center of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, announced the two provinces together, exported over $67 million worth of nano products.
Isfahan led the way with $37 million in exports, accounting for 25.9% of the total. The province’s advanced industries in steel, petrochemicals, textiles, ceramics, and its research centers have played a crucial role in developing and commercializing nanotechnology.
Khuzestan followed with $30 million in exports, representing 20.9% of the total. Its oil and gas industries, steel production, shipbuilding, and strategic ports like Imam Khomeini and Khorramshahr have established it as a key hub for nano exports. Furthermore, its robust transportation infrastructure facilitates international trade.
Tehran ranked third, leveraging its universities, knowledge-based companies, science parks, and innovation centers to contribute significantly to the development and commercialization of nanotechnology.
Other provinces, including Markazi, Bushehr, East Azarbaijan, Yazd, Alborz, and Qazvin, are also expanding their nano industries and increasing their export shares.
