Iran’s vice-pres. for science, tech offers condolences following Bandar Abbas tragedy

Hossein Afshin, Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy and President of the National Elites Foundation, issued a message of condolence following the devastating explosion at Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, which led to the deaths and injuries of a large number of people.
In his statement, Afshin described the incident as a profound national tragedy, emphasizing the resilience and unity of the Iranian people in the face of hardship.
“This painful explosion has once again tested the unwavering spirit and steadfast faith of our nation. Though the loss is irreparable, the spirit of solidarity among our people continues to be a source of national pride,” he said.
Afshin stressed the full readiness of Iran’s science and technology ecosystem to assist those affected. “Through the support of knowledge-based companies, startups, and scientific elites, we are fully prepared to provide assistance to the victims and their families. No effort will be spared to alleviate their suffering,” he noted.
He concluded his message by honoring the memory of those who lost their lives and offering prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.
