A branch of St. Petersburg University will be established in Iran’s International Innovation Zone, marking a significant step in academic cooperation between Iran and Russia, the Communications and Information Center of the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy reported.

The move follows a resolution ratified by the Iranian cabinet of ministers, which allows the establishment of foreign university branches in Iran’s innovation hubs.

In collaboration with Iran’s International Innovation Zone, Iran University of Science and Technology, and St. Petersburg University, the new branch will focus on fostering innovation and educational exchange.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) is set to be signed on Monday, at Pardis Technology Park. The agreement will involve the Vice President of St. Petersburg University, the Iranian Deputy for Innovation Development, the Director General of Innovation Cluster Promotion and Development at Pardis Technology Park, and the Director General of International Affairs at Iran University of Science and Technology.
