Iranian nano-tech firm develops herbal capsule for joint inflammation, digestive disorders

An Iranian knowledge-based company has developed an herbal nano-capsule designed to treat joint inflammation, digestive disorders, and various chronic diseases. The product utilizes nanotechnology to significantly enhance the bioavailability of curcumin, the active compound in turmeric.

According to the Center for Communications of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, Nano Darou Alborz Technology Company has introduced a nano-formulated capsule containing turmeric extract.

The product is said to offer stronger therapeutic effects compared to conventional medications, thanks to its advanced delivery system.

Curcumin is widely known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, but its clinical use has been limited by poor solubility and absorption in the body.
The new nano-formulation addresses these issues by using nanoparticles that improve intestinal absorption and increase the concentration of curcumin in target tissues such as joints, the liver, and the nervous system.

The capsule is intended for use in treating conditions such as arthritis, irritable bowel syndrome, psoriasis, fatty liver disease, and even as a preventative aid for diabetes complications and neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s.

With growing demand for effective herbal medicines, the company believes this innovation could offer new options for managing chronic inflammatory conditions.
