Iranian-made nanomicroscopes enter global competition with Japan, US

Iranian innovators have successfully developed nanomicroscopes, including Atomic Force Microscopes (AFM) and Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM), placing Iran among the few countries capable of producing these advanced instruments.
Seyed Abbas Shahmoradi, CEO of Ara Pajouhesh, stated that the company, with over 20 years of experience in nanotechnology equipment, is the only producer of advanced AFM and TEM devices in Iran.
These microscopes are essential for nanotechnology projects, enabling molecular and atomic-scale imaging, as well as the analysis of physical, chemical, mechanical, electronic, and magnetic properties of materials at the nanoscale.
Globally, only six countries manufacture AFM and three produce TEM devices.
“Our domestically produced microscopes are fully competitive with international models in terms of performance, efficiency, and cost,” Shahmoradi said.
He emphasized that TEM devices are currently manufactured only by Japan and the US, making Iran the third global producer.
Moreover, the Iranian microscopes are offered at prices roughly 40% lower than imported alternatives, and the company has already exported them to several neighboring countries, marking a significant step for Iran in the high-tech global market.
