Iranian firm promotes Quran using augmented reality

An Iranian creative company has been producing content using augmented reality technology to promote the teachings of the Quran, the Muslim holy book.

Rassad-gar-e Omgh-e Aseman Company focuses specifically on the Quran’s astronomical content. It uses astronomy, animation, observatory, and astronomical holography technology to promote Quranic teachings.

The company produces augmented reality content in the form of books, tours to the nature, and ecotourism, and offers workshops and observatory visits to promote Islamic teachings.

In 2015, Rassad-gar-e Omgh-e Aseman Company managed to rank first in job creation among firms at the Iranian Science and Technology Park.

It initially employed 18 people, but had to enforce layoffs during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to a significant drop in school and tourism activities.

The company receives sponsorship from Iran’s Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.
