Iranian and Indian knowledge-based companies expanding cooperation in agriculture and medicinal plants

Iran’s Vice President for Scientific and technological Affairs Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzi and the CEO of India’s Patanjali Company have held talks over expanding cooperation in the field of agriculture and the production of medicinal plants.
Dehghani referred to the huge possibilities for cooperation in digital economy and development of smart agriculture by Iran and India.
He said the two countries, thanks to their strong historical ties and deep-rooted cultural bonds, constitute a broad platform for technological cooperation, especially in smart agriculture.
Dehghani added that Tehran and New Delhi have lived in peaceful coexistence for a long time, and the elders of many people from Iran have lived in India because there is a deep intellectual and cultural affinity between the two nations.
The same coexistence and long-standing bonds, he noted, exist in agriculture and medicine.
The Iranian vice president said Iranian and Indian companies can work together in many fields such as development of software. He added that this could pave the way for creating joint technological businesses.
Dehghani underlined that Iranian and Indian companies can start by focusing on three areas: smartening agriculture, creating smart greenhouses in Iran and setting up traditional and Indian medicine hospitals in Iran.
