Iranian knowledge-based company develops plasma technology to clean up relics

An Iranian knowledge-based company has, for the first time in the country, designed and built an apparatus used to clean up antiquities.

The device developed by the Daneshpooyan Satia Company operates based on plasma technology without using any chemicals.

“The domain of the activity of this company, which was established in 2014, is plasma technology, and we have developed 10 knowledge-based products at the moment,” said Iman Hosseini, the CEO of the company.

He said plasma technology is used in a whole range of sectors, from the food and medical industries to the production of energy, incineration of waste materials, and production of microelectronic parts, to name a few.

“With the support of the Optics and Quantum Committee of the Presidential Office’s Department for Science [Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy], we have produced a plasma apparatus which produces cold plasma and has applications in food and medical industries as well as items and materials sensitive to temperature, including ancient objects and relics.” He explained.
