Iranian vice president underlines role of nanotechnology in tech-diplomacy

Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy says Iran’s achievements in nanotechnology can serve as a new stepping stone to promote Iran’s international diplomatic interactions.
Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi made the remarks at the 14th International Nanotechnology Festival and Exhibition held in the capital Tehran where he visited some of the top products showcased in the event.
Dehghani Firouzabadi praised Iranian knowledge-based companies for their quantum leap during the past two decades and emphasized on the necessity of upgrading and completing the knowledge chains so “all of those involved in the nano-industry can have a role in this field.”
He said Iran has reached a point to solve the needs of its industries at home with the help of knowledge-based and technological products and services and move beyond to technologically capture international markets.
The vice president said nanotechnology is one of the main axes of Iran’s tech-diplomacy with a special place in the government’s interactions and dialogues in the international arena.
“Nanotechnology in Iran is emerging as a serious market-creating and job-creating field… one of the main axes of dialogue and cooperation with friendly countries is nanotechnology and the transfer of technology and the supply of knowledge-based products in this field,” he stated.
