Iran, Uzbekistan to build joint sci-tech park

Iran and Uzbekistan are set to establish a joint science and technology park, the Iranian vice-president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy said.

On the sidelines of a weekly cabinet meeting, Ruhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi said the park will probably be created in the Uzbek city of Samarkand.

He further said talks are underway to attract knowledge-based companies and startups from the private sector to launch the park.

Iran established the Iran House of Innovation and Technology (iHiT) in the Uzbek capital Tashkent in June last year to introduce Iranian knowledge-based and technological products to Uzbekistan and facilitate scientific interactions and cooperation between the two countries.
