Zimbabwe minister: Deep cultural ties with Iran catalyze scientific, technological, economic cooperation

Zimbabwe’s minister of science and education says Tehran and Harare have made inroads in their scientific, technological, and economic cooperation thanks to their deep political and cultural bonds.
The Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development of the Republic of Zibabwe Amon Murwira, in a meeting with Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Rouhollah Dehghani, said his country is ready for the expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic.
“We are fully prepared to use Iran’s capabilities to apply technology in various fields such as aerospace, agriculture, healthcare, environment and mines in the form of coordination between expert teams from the two countries and to expand our cooperation in technology and economy,” Murwira said.
Hailing Iran as a “model of self-confidence and empowerment”, Murwira said Iran’s experiences in indigenizing strategic and advanced products coupled with Zimbabwe’s rich natural resources can create productive economies for both countries.
“We reached an agreement with the (Iranian) scientific vice president to implement projects with joint ownership of infrastructure, investments, knowledge, and technologies, and we hope to achieve a platform for the production of joint products with the desired quality in the near future,” he said.
