Iran: Mostafa intl. award a source of natl., Islamic pride

Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, Ruhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, emphasized the pivotal role of science and technology in the nation’s policy framework, underscoring its transformational impact on Iran’s global standing. 

Speaking at the inauguration of the fifth edition of the Mustafa Award in Isfahan, Dehghani acknowledged the award as a representation of national and Islamic pride.

Dehghani highlighted the strategic significance of promoting science and technology, aligning it with the teachings of Islam and propelling Iran into a formidable technological powerhouse. 

The Mustafa Award, initiated in 2013 and hailed as the “Nobel Prize of Islamic countries” has recognized 14 prominent scientists, symbolizing Iran’s excellence in the global scientific arena, said the Iranian vice president. 

The Mustafa Award not only celebrates outstanding scientists but also standardizes science and fosters international collaborations, furthering the knowledge-based economy across Islamic nations. 

Dehghani emphasized the need for sustained support from the President to expand the award’s impact and elevate the Islamic Republic’s stature in innovation and technology. 

The Mustafa Award, with its multi-dimensional approach, is set to illuminate various domains, amplifying Iran’s glory on the global stage, said Dehghani Firouzabadi.
