Iran knowledge-based company exporting micro cement to regional markets

An Iranian knowledge-based company has launched a factory on Kish Island in southern Iran, which paves the way for more exports of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) products to Persian Gulf countries.
The director of the Sorin concrete manufacturing company, Farshid Montazeri, told the Information Center of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy that the new product, exported under the trademark Cemic, is a decorative and composite coating based on cement, which is environmentally friendly.
The product has a multi-component coating that quickly coves large surfaces such as walls, floors, and ceilings.
Compared to other brands, Cemic has low thickness and high diversity in color, design, and texture.
As the name implies, GFRC is reinforced by glass fibers, which creates crystallization between concrete and fibers due to the silica used in cement, and as a result, it prevents cracks on the surface or at the depth of the concrete.
Meanwhile, the glass fibers, besides increasing the tensile strength, increase the wear resistance, fire resistance, and mechanical resistance of the concrete.
Iraq and Oman are among the first countries that have imported the product.
