Iran’s Amirkabir University to establish technology park in Oman

Iran’s top-notch Amirkabir University plans to establish a science and technology park in Oman, the director of scientific and international cooperation at the technology university announced.
In an interview with ISNA, Rouhollah Bagherzadeh said Amirkabir University is a significant contributor to developing key and strategic technologies which aims to build a robust international network of collaborators.
Bagherzadeh pointed out that the university not only has the capacity for national scientific collaboration to address industrial and societal challenges but can also leverage its international network to meet current needs.
Amirkabir University has formed 12 regional working groups active in various parts of the world, including North and South America, Russia, South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asian countries, he said, explaining that the groups facilitate scientific and technological cooperation based on the university’s academic strengths.
The new initiative will see the university setting up a Science and Technology Park in Oman, aimed at fostering strategic partnerships and showcasing Iranian knowledge-based products, Bagherzadeh said.
The effort is part of a broader program that includes similar plans for Qatar and the UAE aimed at introducing domestically developed technologies to international markets via third countries.
The university also plans to establish branches in Turkey and Central Asian countries to expand its international presence further.
These branches will focus on priority areas such as education, research, innovation, smart technologies, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, water resources management, and cybersecurity.
