Iranian knowledge-based company producing first injectable powder vial in country

An Iranian knowledge-based company has successfully produced the injectable powder vial “Gansicidal” for the first time in the country, which is effective in treating diseases caused by cytomegalovirus (CMV). According to office of the Iranian vice president for science and technology, the pharmaceutical group Sedal Nano has introduced over 250 branded drugs from leading global companies, particularly in oncology.

This achievement is attributed to a dedicated team of young people with specialty in pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and chemistry.

Sedal Nano focuses on domestic production of specialized high-tech products in collaboration with leading foreign companies.

The injectable powder vial “Gansicidal” is one of the company’s latest knowledge-based products.

Foroutan, the deputy CEO of Sedal Nano, introduced the product, stating that its generic name is “Ganciclovir”.

Gansicidal is an antiviral drug produced as a lyophilized powder in single-dose packaging with a potency of 500 mg.

Foroutan noted that it is prescribed for treating CMV-related diseases in adults and adolescents over 12 with weakened immune systems.

This drug is also used to prevent CMV infections after tissue transplants or during chemotherapy in both adults and newborns.

The production of this drug saves approximately 100,000 euros annually in foreign currency for Sedal Nano.
