Iranian, Algerian technology parks host joint startups

Iran has proposed to host dozens of Algerian experts in the Islamic Republic to get to know about the environment and activities of Iranian knowledge-based companies and has also agreed to implement joint research and technology projects with the investment of both countries, the Center for International Science and Technology Cooperation (CISTC) said.

Amir Hossein Mirabadi, the CISTC head, affiliated with the Iranian vice president’s office, said the proposal was made during a meeting between Iran’s Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi with Algeria’s Minister of Knowledge, Economy, Startups, and SMEs Yacine el-Mahdi Oualid in Algiers on Monday.

Mirabadi said during the meeting it was decided that a zone be allocated in Iran’s Pardis Park to Algerian startups as their innovation center.

He added both ministers also agreed to provide joint financial support for their startups through the funds that cushion the effects of possible risks.

Artificial intelligence, information technology, energy and agriculture were also among the priorities during the ministerial meeting, Mirabadi said.
