Iranian VP offers condolences over passing of distinguished mathematician

Iranian Vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy and Director of Iran’s National Elite Foundation Hossein Afshin has offered condolences over the passing of Abadollah Mahmoudian, a distinguished figure in Iranian mathematics.
In a message, Afshin expressed sorrow over the loss of a brilliant scholar who dedicated his life to advancing knowledge and educating future generations.
Dr. Mahmoudian, born on May 17, 1943, in Zanjan, was a revered professor at Sharif University of Technology and a founding member of the Iranian Cryptography Association.
He received numerous accolades for his contributions to mathematics, including the prestigious Allameh Tabatabaee Award in 2011.
Afshin stressed that Mahmoudian’s legacy of commitment and humanity will continue to inspire his students and colleagues.
He extended heartfelt sympathies to Mr. Mahmoudian’s family and the scientific community, wishing eternal peace for the departed scholar and patience for his loved ones.
