Iran says planning joint research with Russian scientists

Iran’s vice President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-based Economy says plans for joint research programs between Iranian and Russian scientists are on the agenda of the two countries. 

Rouhollah Dehghani Firouzabadi, who is on a two-day trip to Moscow at an invitation by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov, said upon his arrival in Moscow on Tuesday, “A number of scientists from both countries will be used in research programs under a   collaboration program between Iranian and Russian science foundations.” 

According to the Iranian vice president he will meet Russian officials to explore avenues to boost cooperation in industrial, technological, nanotechnology, aviation, medicine and medical equipment fields as one of the goals of his trip to Moscow.

In his first meeting, Firouzabadi held talks with Andrei Fursenko, a top aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, on development of bilateral relations in science and technology.

They discussed ways to step up cooperation in various fields, including industrial, technological, advanced materials, aviation industry, medicine and medical equipment.

Firouzabadi is scheduled to meet with the Russia deputy prime minister and visit some industrial, scientific and technological centers in the country.
