Iran to unveil 1st national AI platform demo next week

Iran is set to showcase its first national artificial intelligence (AI) platform demo next week, focusing on applications in the medical and diagnostic fields.

The platform represents a significant milestone in the country’s advancements in AI technology.

According to Mojtaba Alizadeh, Assistant to the Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, the unveiling will highlight the country’s strides in leveraging AI for critical industries.

He also praised the Ministry of Communications for its recent issuance of the first AI operator license, marking a major step in developing AI infrastructure nationwide.

Alizadeh announced a partnership with the Persian Gulf Holding to establish an AI management center for the oil industry in Kish Island, southern Iran, within a year. This initiative builds on a pilot project implementing intelligent systems for oil wells, underscoring AI’s transformative potential in Iran’s oil and petrochemical sectors.

Additionally, Iran plans to launch its first GPU farm by early 2025, designed to meet the country’s AI infrastructure needs.

Alizadeh hinted at forthcoming international AI collaborations, emphasizing the government’s commitment to making AI a cornerstone of national development.
