Iranian knowledge-based companies seek to gain foothold in Armenian markets

Representatives from fifteen Iranian knowledge-based companies, on a trip to Armenia facilitated by the Center of International Science and Technology Cooperation (CISTC) affiliated with Iran’s presidential office, have weighted opportunities to enter new markets in its northern neighbor.

Armenia constitutes a considerable share of Iran’s exports because of its economic growth since 2018 and easy access to the markets in the country due to its adjacency to Iran.

The three-day trip from October 18 to 20 was aimed at expanding the export markets for Iranian companies and promoting their status in international markets.

The delegation held meetings with officials in the Ministry of Advanced Industries of Armenia and were informed of the general policies of the country on importing Iranian knowledge-based products.

They also met with officials from the Armenian Economy Ministry and the Union of Businessmen and Employers for Companies to examine the strategies to get into its market and the support and exemptions they can get from of the country.
