Iran, China announce joint research call results

The Iran National Science Foundation (INSF) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) have announced the results of their fourth joint research call, the Iranian Communications and Information Center of the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, reported.

Out of 136 proposals submitted by Iranian and Chinese researchers in the fields of energy, regenerative medicine, and environmental science, 10 research projects have been approved for implementation.

The proposals were independently reviewed and evaluated by both foundations. From 136 submissions, 10 projects were selected for funding.

In addition to the research projects, three out of 21 proposals for joint workshops on climate change, artificial intelligence, and big data in advanced engineering and manufacturing were approved.

The proposals underwent independent scientific evaluation in both countries, followed by reviews by specialized committees and final selection by the International Committee in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Scientific evaluations were based on criteria such as peer review results, necessity of foreign involvement, added value for the country, research expertise, laboratory facilities, technical knowledge, project relevance, expected outcomes, and proposal quality.
