Iran witnessing rapid transformation of nanotechnology into industrialization phase

Statistical data analysis shows that the number of nanoscale-certified products has increased in Iran from 76 in the Iranian year of 1392 to 1,736 in 1403.

This growth indicates sustainable development and transformation of nanotechnology into the industrialization phase in the country.

According to the information center of the office of the Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, Iran has witnessed significant growth in the manufacturing of nanotechnology products over the past decade.

This upward trend can be divided into three stages. The first stage (1392-1397) saw a gradual but continuous increase in the number of nanoscale-certified products. In 1392, only 76 products had received certification, but this number rose to 558 by 1397. The annual growth during this period averaged about 100 products. This period can be considered the foundation of the nanotechnology ecosystem in Iran.
The second stage (1398-1399)saw the number of certified nanoproducts reach 647 in 2019 and increase to 750 in 1399. This stage marked a relatively higher growth rate compared to the previous period.
The third stage (1400-1403) witnessed a remarkable leap, with the number of certified products increasing from 1,111 in 1400 to 1,736 in 1403.

This success is attributed to several factors, including support from the Nanotechnology Development Headquarters for innovative companies and researchers, the development of research and laboratory infrastructure, and increased private sector investment.
