Iran unveils AI assistant to enhance presidential decision-making

Iran’s Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy has launched an artificial intelligence assistant designed to support the country’s presidential office in governance and policy-making.

According to the Communications and Information Center of the vice presidency, Hossein Afshin, the scientific deputy to Iran’s president, announced the initiative during a coordination meeting attended by representatives from ministries and universities on Monday.

The AI assistant, described as functioning like “a living entity,” will initially be fed with all government regulations, directives, and procedural manuals.

Afshin emphasized the system would require continuous updates, with every new regulation or amendment promptly integrated to maintain its effectiveness.

“We believe in step-by-step progress,” he stated, outlining plans to break down complex processes into manageable components.

Addressing data security concerns, officials confirmed all information would be hosted domestically on the Iran Platform, with Afshin asserting “there are no concerns regarding data output.”

The system is expected to identify and correct potential flaws through regular interaction with government bodies.

The project forms part of Iran’s broader “smart governance” initiative aimed at comprehensive decision-making processes.

Afshin stressed the government’s commitment to utilizing emerging technologies while relying on domestic expertise.
