Accurate and fast processing of laboratory samples with indigenous technology

Researchers at a knowledge-based company succeeded in producing an ultrasonic laboratory homogenizer (sonicator). This advanced device has a wide range of applications in the preparation and processing of laboratory samples.

According to the Communication and Information Center of the Presidential Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Vahid Mosaddeq, a researcher at the knowledge-based company “Fara Teb Futros”, referring to the advantages of this device, said: “A sonicator is a powerful and versatile tool that uses high-intensity ultrasonic waves to transfer mechanical energy to liquids. This energy causes phenomena such as cavitation, intense mixing, and particle crushing.”

He added: Automatic frequency adjustment, use of titanium probe, soundproof chamber, fast and efficient processing, precise process control, adjustable power, possibility of controlling solution temperature, variation in sample volume, digital display and ability to connect to computer software are among the important features of this device.

Mossadegh pointed out that the sonicator has not had a similar domestic model with this level of digital performance so far; he said: We have tried to match the quality of the product with foreign models; while its price is also much lower than imported models.

According to this technology activist, the product is currently in the production stage and can be used in many laboratories and various fields such as medicine, materials and metallurgy.

He also pointed out the industrial applications of the device and said: On an industrial scale, this device can be used in processes related to the petrochemical and refinery industries. It can also significantly increase the speed of many industrial processes.

Mossadegh concluded by noting: “Despite the technological advantages of this device, many industries in the country are still not familiar with it and do not benefit from its benefits; while utilizing this technology can increase productivity in production processes.”
