Three laureates announced for Mustafa prize 2025

The sixth edition of the Mustafa (PBUH) Prize will honor three distinguished scientists from Turkey, Iran, and India for their groundbreaking contributions in medical technologies, artificial intelligence, and clean energy.

At a press briefing in Tehran, Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the scientific committee, and Mehdi Safari-Nia, CEO of the Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation, outlined the details of this year’s awards.

Salehi highlighted that the prize, established in 2012 and funded entirely through endowments rather than government budgets, recognizes achievements with tangible benefits for humanity. Each laureate will receive $500,000.

Since its inception in 2015, the prize has been awarded to 19 scientists from countries including Turkey, Iran, Singapore, Bangladesh, India, Lebanon, and Jordan.

This year, a new category for “Young Scientists” has been introduced, funded by donations from past laureates, to support emerging Muslim researchers.

Candidates were selected from nearly 5,300 researchers worldwide, both from Islamic nations and the diaspora. After extensive evaluation, three winners were chosen, whose innovations span critical fields with direct global impact.

The awards ceremony will take place during Unity Week, coinciding with the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
