AI training reaches 440,000 Iranian students

More than 440,000 students across Iran have received training in artificial intelligence as part of the national “Digital Iran” program, with 20,000 teachers also participating, according to Mohammad Bagher Tabrizi, CEO of Quera.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the program’s summer term, held at Sharif University of Technology, Tabrizi said the initiative is not just the conclusion of a season but the start of a long-term effort to expand AI skills nationwide.

The program, which follows an interactive and project-based approach, is scheduled to continue until next summer.

Tabrizi explained that Quera Junior, the company’s student-focused brand, has been active for four years in AI education.

Pilot camps were held in Qom and Mazandaran provinces in 2023, involving 8,800 students. Positive feedback from those events led to the launch of the broader “Digital Iran 1404” plan.

To date, participants have written and submitted more than three million pieces of code for review, ensuring practical learning beyond passive video lessons. Weekly top students have been awarded prizes, with national winners recognized at the ceremony.

Tabrizi stressed that the program will continue with expanded support for outstanding students throughout the year.
