Iranian deputy vice president stresses special support for entrepreneurial experts, new measures to ease barriers for knowledge-based firms

The Iranian deputy for knowledge-based company development at the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and the Knowledge-Based Economy emphasized the need for special support for entrepreneurial specialists who have established knowledge-based firms after returning to Iran.
Touraj Amraei announced several new facilitative and financial programs to help such companies overcome operational and regulatory challenges.
Speaking at a meeting of returning Iranian experts alongside Hossein Rouzbeh, the head of the Organization for the Development of International Scientific and Technological Cooperation, Amraei said returning elites are “a source of pride and valuable national assets” whose expertise must be effectively utilized through regular engagement and collaboration.
Highlighting the law on maximizing the use of domestic capabilities, he stressed that when a comparable local product exists, government agencies are prohibited from importing foreign goods.
He encouraged firms to report such cases through the Connect platform.
Amraei announced the upcoming launch of an Insurance Technology Research and Innovation Fund to mitigate risks associated with high-tech products.
Other support measures include guaranteed first-time purchases, financing mechanisms such as factoring, and regulatory reforms, like eliminating the “10 insurance policy” requirement for companies seeking knowledge-based certification.
He reaffirmed the vice presidency’s commitment to defending innovators’ rights and promoting collaboration among Iran’s scientific and entrepreneurial community.
