President Pezeshkian: Breaking mental barriers key to educational transformation

President Massoud Pezeshkian of Iran said that breaking mental barriers and believing in the possibility of change are essential for any real transformation in education.

He made the remarks on Sunday during the inauguration of two SAMPAD (National Organization for the Development of Exceptional Talents) smart middle schools in Shahriar, southwest of Tehran.

According to the Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, the new schools were established in collaboration with knowledge-based companies and coincide with the start of the new academic year.

“The starting point of every transformation lies in the mindset of managers, teachers, and experts,” President Pezeshkian said, adding, “High-quality education will be achieved only when we believe that no student should leave the classroom without deep learning and essential skills.”

He emphasized that improving educational quality depends on not removing sanctions or external constraints, but on the motivation, knowledge, and commitment of teachers and administrators.

The president also called for greater community and donor participation in developing educational infrastructure and fostering creativity and critical thinking from early school years.

In a related move, President Pezeshkian inaugurated over 2,400 education projects, 2,800 “Field of Empathy” initiatives, and 13,500 “Martyr Ajamian” schools nationwide via video conference.
