Iranian VP calls for closer scientific cooperation with Tajikistan

Iran’s vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy highlights the country’s many commonalities with Tajikistan, mainly the Persian language, saying the two nations can strengthen cooperation in various fields of science, including digital economy, health and artificial intelligence.

Rouhollah Dehghani held a meeting with the Tajik ambassador and the head of the country’s Academy of Sciences for talks on ways to promote bilateral scientific and technological cooperation as well as joint market-based efforts.

“To strengthen this sector, we need 100 outstanding scientists in the field of basic sciences so that we can allocate funds and support them in the years to come. This can turn into a joint program with Tajikistan,” Dehghani said.

“The Persian language is a special capacity that makes communication more fruitful and easier,” the official added. “We believe we can cooperate with Tajikistan in strategic fields to introduce joint Iranian-Tajik products to the international markets.”
