Iran and Vietnam to expand technological cooperation

Iran has expressed readiness to expand scientific, technological, and commercial cooperation with Vietnam. This was announced by President of the International Scientific and Technological Cooperation Development Organization Hossein Rouzbeh during a visit by Vietnam’s Ambassador Luong Ngoc Nguyen to the Iran House of Innovation and Technology in Tehran. Rouzbeh spoke about Iran’s strong innovation ecosystem, saying the country has around 11,000 active knowledge-based companies that have played a key role in developing a knowledge-based economy.
According to Rouzbeh, these firms meet domestic needs even under sanctions.
He noted that such capabilities are now open to constructive engagement with friendly nations, including Vietnam. Rouzbeh underlined that strengthening scientific and technological ties with Vietnam is a key foreign policy priority of Iran’s 14th government and that Iran is ready to share its experiences in building an innovation ecosystem and participate in joint exhibitions.
Rouzbeh invited Vietnamese science and technology officials to visit Iran and explore cooperation opportunities in agriculture, fisheries, medicine, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence. He also highlighted Iran’s major national program to train one million students in AI, offering to share its expertise and policymaking experience with Vietnam. Both sides agreed to continue talks over joint projects in order to strengthen long-term scientific and technological collaboration.
