Iran unveils seven homegrown power industry products at international electricity exhibition

Seven domestically developed technologies needed by Iran’s power sector were unveiled on the sidelines of the 25th Iran International Electricity Industry Exhibition, marking a major step toward self-sufficiency in high-demand electrical equipment.

According to the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the products were introduced under its “First-Time Production” program and with the support of Tavanir, the national power company. The unveiling ceremony was attended by Touraj Amraei, Deputy for Development of Knowledge-Based Companies.

Among the key products presented was a 72.5-kV high-voltage GIS switchgear designed to reduce substation land requirements, enhance reliability and resilience, improve compliance with civil defense standards, and significantly shorten installation time.

Another product was silicone RTV insulating coatings developed by the knowledge-based company Moniran Niroo Sanat.
The technology can sharply reduce outages and eliminates the need to wash insulators in highly polluted or humid regions, cutting reliance on imports.

Also unveiled were RIP and RIS bushings up to 170 kV produced by Niroo Trans, offering improved storage, maintenance, and reduced network incidents.

Other first-time products included a capacitive load-break switch (LBS) developed by Pars Switch, a multifunction transformer differential relay, a multifunction directional overcurrent protection relay, and a mobile partial-discharge measurement device, technologies expected to strengthen grid stability and speed up fault detection.

The 25th International Electricity Industry Exhibition ran from Tuesday to Saturday in Tehran.
