Iran holds fifth gathering of returning specialists to strengthen global expert network

Iran convened the Fifth Meeting of Returning Iranian Specialists with the aim of expanding scientific and technological cooperation, sharing international experience, and reinforcing professional networks among Iranian experts.
According to the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, the event was held at the Iran House of Technology and Innovation with the participation of former expatriate specialists who have recently resettled in the country.
Hossein Rouzbeh, President of the Organization for the Development of International Scientific and Technological Cooperation, highlighted the evolution of the national program encouraging the return of Iranian specialists and the establishment of the Iran House of Technology and Innovation.
He emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration, noting that the program has now produced “tangible results” after several years of operation.
Rouzbeh referred to the earlier “Connect” program launched in 2015 to link Iranian experts abroad with domestic institutions.
At that time, no companies had been established by returning specialists. Today, more than 130 such companies are active, demonstrating significant progress despite remaining challenges.
He stressed that effective networking, encompassing mutual understanding, experience-sharing, and joint technological projects, is essential for long-term success.
Participants also shared personal experiences of returning to Iran and proposed measures to improve cooperation between government and private-sector institutions and streamline professional processes.
