Fifth ConnectTalk event strengthens links between Iranian experts abroad, domestic science ecosystem

The fifth ConnectTalk event, held in Tehran, focused on enhancing collaboration between Iranian specialists abroad and Iran’s science and technology ecosystem.
Organized by the Connect Program of the Office for Scientific and Technological Cooperation Development, the event carried the slogan “From Global Experience to Impact at Home” and emphasized the role of Iranian experts, entrepreneurs, and innovators in strengthening the knowledge-based economy and national capacities.
The Director of Human Capital and Scientific Relations at the Office, Ali Hosseini, highlighted that the main goal of the Connect Program is to create a sustainable bridge between Iranian professionals abroad and domestic scientific communities.
Since its inception in December 2014, the program has leveraged the expertise of Iranian graduates and specialists working in top global universities and companies, enabling them to contribute to Iran’s scientific and technological development without requiring permanent return.
Hosseini noted that despite challenges over the years, the Connect network now includes over 11,000 members, providing valuable insights for designing infrastructure for effective engagement.
ConnectTalk sessions allow participants from diverse geographic locations to share professional experiences, discuss challenges, showcase achievements, and explore opportunities for collaboration, helping integrate global expertise into Iran’s innovation ecosystem.
