Raisi urges efforts to boost exports of knowledge-based products

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has called for efforts to boost the country’s exports of knowledge-based products, saying leaders of friendly regional and trans-regional nations seek cooperation with the Islamic Republic in this sector.

In a cabinet meeting, Raisi called on relevant officials to make plans for and seriously pursue a promotion of exports of knowledge-based products to Venezuela, Qatar and Tajikistan, whose leaders have welcomed Iran’s achievements in that field.
“All presidents who have visited Iran in recent months have praised Iran’s power, capabilities and the achievements of its youths in the knowledge-based production sector,” he said.
“Making progress depends on timely, firm and expert decisions made in the country and their serious follow-up. Lagging behind the responsibilities throws a wrench in the [development] process,” the president added.
The cabinet also adopted a regulation aimed at providing support for knowledge-based and employment-creating production.
Iran has exported its knowledge-based products to 70 countries, including Turkey, South Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, and Kenya.
The value of exports of knowledge-based products was estimated to stand at $1 billion last year, with officials predicting a rise in the figure.
