Iranian-made medicine helps decrease inflammation caused by diseases

Iranian scientists have developed capsules containing nanomicelles with biological effects of turmeric and curcumin, which are anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and cancer preventive.

The medicine, which has been produced with the support of the Nanotechnology Development Headquarters of the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, contains curcumin, which can be distributed and dissolved in water.

The medicine remains stable in the acidic environment of the stomach for at least 6 hours and does not go away and reaches the small intestine intact.

At this stage, nanomicelles facilitate the transfer of curcumin from the intact liquid layer on the surface of intestinal epithelial cells, which serve as a barrier against the absorption of fat-soluble compounds, and increase the absorption of curcumin orally.

The capsules are available in Iran at low prices and effectively help improve liver and digestive function.

They also facilitate the treatment of diabetes and the repair of damaged tissues, reduce chemotherapy complications, prevent clots in vessels, help treat Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s and lower cholesterol.
