Iran’s knowledge-based sector working to promote industrial waste management

Iranian knowledge-based companies have been working to designing facilities to recycle water for use in different industries in an effort to reduce damage to the environment.
Mohsen Razmjou, the CEO of the knowledge-based Yasin Poroje Parsian Ebtekar Company, said the firm under his watch was actively working in the field of industrial waste management, and that different industries such as steelmaking, petrochemicals, electroplating, poison production, and car making can benefit from the company’s services.
Using an electrochemical method, the firm carries out the purification process by adding some chemical substances to the water.
Depending on each customer’s needs, it is possible to go as far as obtaining environmental green-light and use purified water in industrial units or for irrigation of non-fertile plants.
In the process, the waste materials left in the form of sludge are first dewatered. The dry mud left behind is either delivered to the environmental units for disposal, or it can be reused due to the valuable materials inside the mud or as fertilizers.
Razmjou also praised the important role of the Iranian Vice Presidency for Science and Technology in activating the knowledge-based sector in the area of industrial waste management.
