Iranian surgery simulator being exported to Indoneia

A laparoscopic surgery simulator developed by the Iranian knowledge-based company, Sina Robotics and Medical Innovation Company, is making waves internationally, especially in Indonesia.

The simulator, a fraction of the cost of its foreign counterparts, has been embraced for its innovative features.

Alireza Mirbagheri, the company’s managing director, highlighted the simulator’s prowess.

It operates as a comprehensive system merging hardware and software to replicate laparoscopic surgery conditions, assesses user performance, and generates progress reports.

Employing virtual, augmented, and artificial reality technologies, it simulates real surgical scenarios, offering a practice platform for aspiring surgeons before live operations.

This pioneering simulator not only minimizes the need for animal experimentation but also provides personalized user accounts to track and evaluate trainee progress.

It meets international standards, facilitating licensing for laparoscopic surgeons in developed countries.

Mirbagheri emphasized the software’s advanced functionalities, ranging from depicting real anatomy in 3D to managing tools, adjusting lighting and camera angles, and even simulating complications due to surgical errors.

The company’s export success, generating approximately one million dollars annually, underscores the simulator’s global appeal. Indonesia stands as their primary export destination. Mirbagheri credited national support and strategic planning for their achievements, signifying a major leap in Iran’s technological advancements in the medical field.
