Iran’s 1st VP orders action on regulation over supporting non-Iranian elites

Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber orders the implementation of a regulation titled “Supporting Non-Iranian Elites,” which was recently adopted by cabinet ministers based on a proposal by the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

Based on the regulation, foreign nationals who have the qualifications to be recognized as elites will enjoy privileges of Iranian citizens, excluding citizenship and taking over certain posts forbidden under the law for foreigners.

The goal of the regulation is to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of non-Iranian elites who have offered or are offering good services in line with the ideals of the Islamic establishment and national interests.
