Iranian company makes gadget for full control of greenhouses by smart phones

An Iranian knowledge-based company has invented a device to fully control greenhouses, with the equipment in them and analyzing the data related to them, being done by smart phones from anywhere in the world.

According to the communication and information center of the office of the Iranian vice president’s science, technology and knowledge-based economy, the device works with a gateway, central receiver and transmitter, and a sensor.

By installing the gateway at the greenhouse and hooking up to the Internet, a wireless communication will be established between the sensor and operator, and the sensor can accurately measure all parameters in the greenhouse, including the temperature and humidity of the air and soil, and the amount of different dioxide.

Behzad Khanjarian, the director of the knowledge-based company said, “CloudiFarm is actually a comprehensive industrial automation solution that has been developed with a focus on the agricultural field, and we are making efforts in the company to generalize the technology from agriculture to other fields, including livestock farming, poultry farming, etc.”

He also gave a hint of the company’s future by using artificial intelligence for various parts of farming and agriculture, for example for the timing and amount of irrigation.
