Iran, Indonesia discuss closer medical cooperation

Iran and Indonesia have explored prospects for cooperation in the field of medicines and medical equipment.
The Iran House of Innovation and Technology (IHIT) hosted a medical and pharmaceutical delegation from the Indonesian Health Ministry, who inspected the IHIT’s medicines and medical equipment department, reported the Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy Department of the Iranian Presidential Office.
In the meeting, the participants discussed Iran’s status in the field of drugs and medical equipment and exchanged views on relevant international mechanisms.
The Iranian side presented a report on the quantity of Iran’s imports and exports in the domain of medical equipment.
“The value of our imports and exports in this area amounts to $3 billion, of which $1.7 billion is the share of imports and $1.3 billion is the worth of items produced,” said the Iranian side.
In the meeting, it was highlighted that Iran secures % 0.5 of the total investment in the global medical equipment market, offering such devices as dentistry, laboratory and general medicine equipment.
