Tech innovation in knowledge-based economy key to boosting productivity, curbing inflation

Rouhollah Dehghani, the Iranian Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, emphasized the pivotal role of technological innovation in knowledge-based companies to enhance productivity and combat inflation.

Acknowledging the traditional methods of production growth, such as importing raw materials and taking on debt, can lead to inflation, Dehghani highlighted the significance of increasing productivity as a solution endorsed by the Supreme Leader.

Dehghani stressed that the focus should be on elevating productivity through technology, stating that technology is the determining factor for productivity.

He emphasized that technology encompasses not only hardware but also management, financing, distribution, and other aspects of the production cycle.

Addressing the need for reforms in government agencies to improve productivity, Dehghani called for restructuring organizations and transforming bureaucratic approaches.

He advocated for incentivizing research and development in both the private and public sectors, with a particular emphasis on increasing the share of devices from research and development.

Dehghani urged a forward-looking approach to stay abreast of future technologies.

The knowledge-based production jump law was highlighted, in his remarks, as a progressive tool to enhance the role of devices in research and development.
