Isfahan research town tipped to set $1bn export record for knowledge-based products

The Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) in central Iran has the potential to boost its knowledge-based products exports and set a record of over one billion dollars, the head of the Organization for the Development of International Cooperation in Science and Technology says.
Amir Hossein Mirabadi made the remarks while visiting the internationalization camp of knowledge-based, creative and technological companies, which was held in collaboration between his organization and the ISTT.
Noting that knowledge-based economy and its prosperity, “or to put it more precisely, making the economy knowledge-based,” has been underlined by Iran’s Leader, Mirabadi said growth and surge in production have been the main economic goals during the past ten years, designated by the Leader.
He also stated, “We need a serious leap in knowledge-based economy. Isfahan scientific and research town has a good capacity in this field and has been active in the field of technology for many years and has even been a pioneer in defining this field.”
Mirabadi said talks have been held on the capabilities and challenges as well as solutions, adding tackling the existing issues will help solve the challenges of the entire system.
